New Zealand Māori Internet Society was established several years ago (when very few Māori were on the Internet,) by Ross Himona and Kamera Raharaha to promote Māori on the Internet. The society was really a hobby group with an handful of members. An injection of new members have taken the society to a structured body with copious members .
The society is now incorporated.

The picture on the right is of komiti at a Hui in Taupo .This was just after the launch of the tld maori.nz. Many new projects are under way with a view of assisting Maori onto the internet.
The Society is continually looking at new ways to promote Māori on the internet. Some of these initiatives are helping Māori businesses to have a presence. The introduction of content management sites now makes it easy to completely control the content of a website. Our executive will gladly help members to do this.
If you would like to become a member please click on the membership and newsletter menu item under "Our Services". All memberships are manually approved.
